Bio
Valeria spent her first two years studying Psychology before completing her degree from the Ivey Business School at Western University with a Bachelor of Arts, Honours Business Administration (HBA) and Certificate in Sustainability. The idea of interdisciplinary learning and making connections across seemingly different topics continues to be a pillar of her approach to work. As such, Outcomes Finance and its ability to involve many typically divided players has taken a recent stronghold on her interests.
Valeria is someone who leads her life with intention. This perspective led her down a focused path to do work reflecting her values. She was a Conservation & Climate Finance Research Assistant for the Deshkan Ziibi Conservation Impact Bond where she brought a Two-Eyed Seeing approach by learning GIS to depict the strengthening relationship between land and humans. Her time was a transformational intellectual, spiritual experience and is cited as the summer she became resolute to a career in impact. She later joined a research team conducting an impact assessment via qualitative analysis for Ivey’s new EDI module centering on Indigenous Knowledge and continued her Impact Measurement work for The Howl Experience, an experiential learning organization. Valeria also has client-facing experience as a Partnership Manager at veritree (tentree’s sister company) where she developed +20 corporate partnerships from North America and EU to plant trees, resulting in $300K invested in restoration in 6 months. She is currently an Impact & Communications Analyst at Raven Indigenous Impact Foundation, a one-of-a-kind Outcomes Finance Organization investing in Canadian Indigenous communities. Here, she is leading the analysis of international impact standards for its Impact Measurement framework and the recruitment-focused communications campaign for its health portfolio.
Outside of school and work, Valeria loves to stay active by running, playing badminton, and logging all other sports on her unbridled Strava. She is also a strong proponent for community arts and culture as a film photographer and casual jazz fan. Her latest endeavors involve building her own bike, learning portraiture, and improving her mother tongue, Bahasa Indonesia.
