Holly graduated from the University of Southampton in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. While she engaged in learning the groundwork of a management career, participating in courses such as Project Management, Strategic Management, Business Research and Accounting, she found her passion for Sustainability through holistic courses. Learning through domains including Business Ethics, Philosophy of Management and Organizations and Global Health, she began to align her personal interests in solving global issues such as inequality and climate change to her career path. In her final year, Holly wrote an independent 11,0000-word dissertation project titled ‘Investigating the Impact of UK Business Schools on Organizational Gender Inequality’, which utilized her knowledge of the nature of organizations, while investigating the phenomenon of gender inequality through disciplines such as sociology, education theory and philosophy.
Holly has worked in a variety of roles and industries, in which she has honed key stakeholder engagement, leadership, problem-solving and interpersonal skills while embedding her passion for sustainability. Working as a Team Supervisor at the Royal Air Force Yacht Club, she facilitated the upgrade of environmental initiatives behind the bar and the club as a whole, such an initiative to reduce plastic waste such as straws stirrers and bags, including the involvement and engagement customers, employees, and the local community alike. Holly also has an enthusiasm for the power of education, which is reflected by her role as Peer Leader at the University of Southampton, where she designed and led weekly sessions for first year students to assist in their integration to University through developing skills such as research, presentation, time management and mindfulness. Holly has also completed work experience at global firms such as Clifford Chance and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, which developed her understanding of the operations of the financial and legal industries and developed her interest of how large private sector firms can create shared value for society and the environment.
Stemming from her belief that sustainability is as much a career choice as it is a personal philosophy, Holly enjoys being around nature and staying active and mindful through hobbies such as hiking, yoga, jogging, cycling, skiing, snowboarding, and skating.
