Bio
Silvia graduated from Externado University of Colombia in 2014 with a Bachelor of International Relations. During her undergraduate, Silvia developed a special interest in human rights and social justice. Her passion for these topics led her to engage in an academic exchange on the Master's in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action in Sciences Po Paris during the last six months of her undergraduate. With the course of time and the path in her professional life, Silvia's interest moved towards environmental sustainability.
Upon graduating, Silvia started working with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) as the Operations and Finances Assistant for the UNDP/GEF CLME+ Project. The latter is a sustainable development environmental project that seeks the sustainable management of shared living marine resources in the wider Caribbean region. Her high level of commitment, proactive, and goal-oriented personality led her to get promoted to an Associate position shortly after she started working in the project. As a result of the different functions carried out in the job, Silvia developed skills related to procurement, operations, and management fields encompassed in a sustainability framework.
In her spare time, Silvia enjoys traveling, biking, cooking, dancing, listening to music, going out for walks with her dog, and spending time with friends and family.
