MScSM 10 Year Anniversary

TEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY + A virtual keynote featuring THE HONOURABLE BOB RAE

MScSM celebrates our 10 year anniversary in 2024, and we are tremendously proud of our community's impact around the world.

We invite our 280 alumni to join us to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of the Program, our partners, our community, our students, and our graduates.

The MScSM community has grown tremendously over the last decade.  With inaugural leadership from Professor Shashi Kant, the program has adopted a unique lens on sustainability through a truly interdisciplinary lens, and with concepts of transformation, community and love at the core.  Professor Kant's leadership led the program to grow rapidly, surpassing expectations, with a unique blend of core curriculum designed to prepare students for global sustainability challenges, and a broad range of experiential opportunities to acquire concrete experience.

From exchange opportunities in Europe and co-op opportunities designed just for our students to live case competitions, field trips, mentorship, and conferences, the MScSM students and alumni have embraced learning to its fullest.  As a result, their enthusiasm, motivation and knowledge have carried our alumni around the world, contributing to sustainability in every industry and sector.

In 2024, Professor Shashi Kant finished his decade of service as the MScSM Program Director, passing the leadership of the Program to Professor Brett Caraway.  We thank Shashi for his years of service, genuine care for the community, and inspiration.

"Mother Earth is sending clear and strong warnings to all of us to act now to save ourselves. We must learn to listen and respect our universal mother; and start to love ourselves and all other creations of the same mother. Global sustainability is possible only by the universal culture of love to all and not by the culture of killing (physically, emotionally, or socially) each other."
- Professor Shashi Kant, Inaugural MScSM Director
