Bio
Jason graduated with Honours from the Faculty of Land and Food Systems at The University of British Columbia (UBC) with a Bachelor of Science in Global Resource Systems. During his undergraduate studies, he specialized in environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG), integrating interdisciplinary courses in commerce, environmental science, geography, and sustainable food systems. As a global citizen, Jason enriched his academic experience by conducting sustainability research in Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Indonesia, as well as completing a semester abroad at the National University of Singapore.
At UBC, Jason managed sustainability initiatives for Western Canada’s largest student union, the AMS of UBC Vancouver. He spearheaded campus-wide projects such as launching UBC's first zero-waste soap refill station, conducting greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting for the student union building, and administering the Sustainability Project Fund to support student-led innovations. Jason’s consulting expertise was further developed through ESG strategy internships at Deloitte, TD Securities, and Interfor, where he excelled in leading industry research, sustainability reporting, and materiality assessments. His strong work ethic, professional communication skills, and technical expertise consistently left a meaningful impact on the teams and projects he contributed to.
Higher education has fueled Jason’s passion for advancing businesses toward a low-carbon, resource-efficient, and socially inclusive economy. Currently, he is pursuing a Master of Science in Sustainability Management, complemented by his ongoing completion of the GARP Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR®) Certificate. Additionally, Jason continues to serve as a Teaching Assistant, reflecting his commitment to lifelong learning and education. As a McCall MacBain Sustainable Finance Fellow, his graduate research focuses on "The State of Corporate Practice in Climate Reporting across Banks and Credit Unions in Canada."
Outside of academics and professional endeavours, Jason enjoys exploring new restaurants and cafes, indulging in diverse cuisines, and staying active through badminton, volleyball, and tennis. He is also looking forward to trying pickleball in the near future.
