Bio
Jason graduated from the Faculty of Land and Food Systems at The University of British Columbia (UBC) with a Bachelor of Science in Global Resource Systems. During his undergraduate studies, he specialized in environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG), integrating interdisciplinary courses in commerce, environmental science, geography, and sustainable food systems. As a global citizen, Jason expanded his learning internationally, completing sustainability research programs in Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Indonesia, and a semester abroad at the National University of Singapore.
At UBC, Jason managed sustainability programming for Western Canada’s largest student union, Alma Mater Society. He supervised campus-wide initiatives such as launching UBC's first zero-waste soap refill station, conducting GHG accounting for the student union building, and administering the Sustainability Project Fund for student-led projects. Jason’s strong consulting background was honed through ESG Strategy internships at Deloitte, TD Securities, and Interfor, where he gained confidence in leading industry research, sustainability reporting, and materiality assessments. His strong work ethic, professional communication skills, and expertise in sustainability were invaluable in leaving a lasting impact on his previous teams and projects.
Higher education has fueled Jason’s passion for supporting businesses toward a low-carbon, resource-efficient, and socially inclusive economy. In addition to entering the Masters in Sustainability Management program this year, he is currently completing the GARP Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR®) Certificate and continuing his tenure as a Teaching Assistant, furthering his journey as a lifelong learner and educator.
In his free time, Jason enjoys exploring the city, trying new restaurants and cafes offering diverse cuisines. His favourite sports include badminton, volleyball, and tennis, and he hopes to pick up pickleball in the future.
