Bio
Lauren graduated from University of Toronto in 2020 receiving a Honours Bachelor of Science degree with High Distinction. She completed her life science undergraduate program with a double Major; in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and in Animal Physiology. Lauren’s interest in natural science, humanities, and business is an ideal fit for a future in the diverse field of sustainability.
Through many volunteer and summer work positions, Lauren has explored her interest in animal welfare and philanthropy. Her experience with wildlife rehabilitation, veterinary, and domestic animal fostering has fueled a strong sense of environmental responsibility, and her extensive community involvement has provided valuable knowledge and skills. Employment at Deerhurst Highlands Golf Course has added formal business and customer service experience to her resume. While in university, Lauren challenged herself to pursue knowledge in both science and humanities, realizing an aptitude to present complex scientific ideas in a concise way to an audience. She is inspired to pursue a career in sustainability management as an opportunity to integrate multi-dimensional interests and to contribute to the life science industry with unique and meaningful impact.
Many of Lauren’s personal interests have an outdoor and adventurous element. She enjoys travel to appreciate different cultural experiences. She also participates in several athletic pursuits. Lauren currently scuba dives, golfs and wake surfs, and previously played competitive ice hockey for many years.
