Bio
Abby graduated from University of Toronto with high distinction in Bachelor of Business Administration degree, specialized in Finance Co-op. Ever since she was a child, Abby had numerous opportunities to travel worldwide with her family to learn about different cultures, and to experience the beauty of nature. Her love and passion for the environment along with her knowledge and experience in business has led her to enter the energy industry and work towards renewable energy and sustainability transition.
Upon graduating, she joined Suncor Energy’s New Grad program. During her two rotations, she worked in the company’s Downstream business and got her hands on various projects including fuel audit, distribution, Alberta retail gas stations’ electricity budget estimate, Electric Vehicle and biofuel initiatives, etc. She saw the huge potential and necessity for corporations to transform their traditional business model and the opportunity to invest more in renewable energy and diversify their energy portfolio. In order to further pursue this path, she was committed to learn more science knowledge and strengthen her business experience in order to gain more opportunities in working in sustainable energy field.
Abby enjoys reading and meditating with her cat Eddie at the end of her day. Whenever she gets the chance, she will go exploring in national parks, camping, or visiting another country with her camera. She also organizes volunteer events as a part of WWF’s Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup initiative to help clean GTA shorelines while gathering pollutant data to better protect our water resources.
