Women’s-only sport hours are one of the initiatives implemented to foster a welcoming environment to female-identifying students, staff and faculty to encourage their participation in sport, no matter the skill level. This supports the mission of the Department of Recreation, Athletics & Wellness to create an inclusive, safe, equitable and welcoming environment for our diverse community.

What you need to know…
- The Women’s-Only programs are open to female-identifying participants and staffed by female identifying staff
- Drop-In Women’s-Only hours will be posted on the Drop-In Sport Calendar located on our website main page.
- Reservations can be made minimum 48hours in advance
- Standby procedures will be in place should you not attend your reserved spot. Be sure to check out the Standby Procedures below
- You can also join Drop-In Women’s Only by walk-in registration at the RAWC Welcome Desk
- Scan your T-card to check-in RAWC Welcome Desk
- Lock up your belongings in the RAWC changerooms or make your way to the outdoor facility
- Once checked-in, participants must keep their T-cards with them when in the facilities
- Participants can borrow equipment using their T-card. Equipment is limited so participants may need to share
- Staff will be present in the space to welcome participants and be available should you have any questions
- Face masks are welcomed while in our facilities and during athletic activities
- Games/scrimmages will be permitted
Check in timing and standby procedure
- Check-in timing: All participants must check-in with a Welcome Desk Representative at the RAWC Welcome Desk to attend Drop-In Women’s-Only hours
- Standby Procedure: Spaces may be available depending on capacity and user attendance. Please see the RAWC Welcome Desk Representative in-person for standby availability. Please remember that requests made over the phone will not be accepted. We cannot always guarantee an available spot, so you are encouraged to reserve a spot for yourself prior to attending. However, we will do our best to find other options for you to participate in our programming.
How to reserve & cancel a spot
If you want to book a time for drop-in sports, please follow these steps:
- Go to recreation.utoronto.ca for UTM
- Please sign in using your UTORID information
- From the main landing page choose the icon for "Sports", current semester & the University of Toronto Mississauga category. This will bring you the list of all drop-in sports currently offered. Make sure you are in the correct semester and select “Drop-In Women’s Only”
- All program instances will show up at the bottom of the screen. Bookings are allowed 48 hours in advance.
- Click the "Register" button on the time day that you want to come!
If you wish to cancel your booking, please follow these steps:
- While signed in to recreation.utoronto.ca click your profile icon in the top right corner of the screen.
- In the drop down menu that appears choose "Profile"
- Choose "Registrations" from the left-hand menu
- Locate the booking you wish to cancel from the list and click on the three dots at the end of the booking.
- From the drop down list choose "cancel registration"

Borrowing equipment
- The RAWC Welcome desk will have the following equipment available to rent for your sport experience:
- Badminton Racquets & Shuttles (birdies)
- Basketballs
- Respect the equipment and use it for its purpose ONLY
- Equipment will be sanitized after every use by RAWC staff
- Should you have your own equipment, we encourage you to bring it
- Equipment is limited. Be sure to share with others while in our space
If you wish to borrow equipment, please follow these steps:
- Ask the RAWC Welcome Desk desk staff if they have any equipment available for the specific drop in sport
- For example, if I registered for Badminton, I will need a racquet and a birdie.
- Provide your T-Card to sign-out the equipment
- Use the equipment in the specific facility and have fun!
- Once booking is complete, return the equipment back to the Welcome desk.
