Experience / Area of Expertise
At the heart of my practice is building a genuine, empathetic, non-judgemental rapport, in a space where you feel safe. I’m here to listen to your story, honour your experiences, and offer support without judgment. My holistic approach considers the interconnectedness of personal, social, and environmental factors, meeting you exactly where you are in your journey.
With a decade of experience as a registered social worker and psychotherapist, I strive to offer compassionate, client-centered support, tailored to your unique needs. Whether you’re dealing with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, family stress, conflict, burnout, or navigating life transitions, I’m committed to working with you through these challenges.
Utilizing a variety of therapeutic modalities—such as Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as well as trauma informed therapy—I aim to provide personalized care that addresses both immediate concerns and long-term goals.
With an honours degree in Gender and Equity Studies and a master’s degree in Social Work, my career has spanned hospital settings, primary care, and post-secondary mental health environments. I am passionate about destigmatizing mental health and dismantling barriers to access care.
Things I love
I love playing card games (especially Tacos vs Burritos) or having spontaneous dance parties in the kitchen with my kids—it’s a great way for me to unwind and take myself less seriously. I ground myself by waking up early to relish in the quiet of the house before the day starts. I also enjoy going for brisk walks to clear my mind and move my body after sitting all day, and I’m always up for exercising (when the mood strikes.) Catching up with friends, trying out new foods, and attempting to garden keeps me engaged and energized. And if that doesn’t work, a hot cup of coffee is my default.
I look forward to working with you and exploring how we can achieve your wellness goals together. Feel free to reach out—I’d love to meet you!
