Ongoing: W.G. Davis Building Renovation of Loading Dock Area (Level 0)

As part of the New Science Building Project, the General Contractor will be renovating the Loading Dock Area located in W.G. Davis Building, Level 0.

This renovation will include demolition and construction (expansion) of the Loading Dock area.

This work has been already started and will be completed by October 2024.

Notice of Schreiberwood Residence Townhouse Complex G Demolition, starting the week of April 29, 2024

Demolition work will be taking place in a select area of Schreiberwood Residence Townhouses (Complex G) and is anticipated to begin the week of April 29, 2024.  This work is needed as part of the preparation for the construction of the highly-awaited New Student Residence.

Stage 2 Municipal Roadwork: Burnhamthorpe Road West Bridge Retrofit, starting April 29, 2024

We are sharing a message from the City of Mississauga about the next stage of continuing roadwork near campus that may impact your commute to campus due to lane reductions.  

 

As always, we encourage our community to consider sustainable ways to get to campus such as public transit to reduce the volume of single-passenger vehicle use to campus and to review detour routes if recommended by the City during the project.

UPDATE: Notice of Outer Circle Lane reduction at the HMALC Layby Closure, starting June 17, 2024

The tunnel remediation by the HMALC is currently in progress.  In order to facilitate equipment on site to complete the excavation, the southbound lane width will be reduced partially from June 17th until the completion of the project on August 16th.  Construction barriers are currently in place while two lanes will remain open to traffic during this period.

 

The Hazel McCallion Academic Learning Centre (HMALC) Layby/Drop off Lane will remain closed during this period

UPDATE: Construction Notice of Municipal work on Dundas Street West, starting June 17, 2024

Annual Fire Alarm Testing starting Tuesday, July 16, 2024 - Maanjiwe nendamowinan, Deerfield Hall & Instructional Centre

WHEN: 

Annual fire alarm testing will begin on Tuesday July 16th, starting 8:00am in Maanjiwe nendamowinan, Deerfield Hall, & Instructional Centre.

As the contractor is required to access most spaces within these buildings – including offices, classrooms and electrical/mechanical rooms – please identify areas and times which should be avoided.  Please reach out to schedule an appropriate time for these area(s).

Notice of Crane Lift at W.G. Davis Building (5 minute Walk) on Tuesday, July 16, 2024

On Tuesday July 16th, a crane and support vehicles/equipment will be positioned at the end of the Five Minute Walk near W.G. Davis Building, main floor, as part of the Air Handling Unit (AHU L2&L3) Replacement Project.  

Using signage and fencing to ensure pedestrian safety, all exterior pedestrian traffic will be diverted to another entrance into the W.G. Davis Building - either the main entrance at Inner Circle Road or the entrance near the CCT Building.

RESCHEDULED: Notice of Building Closure for W.G. Davis Building Electrical Service Interruption, JKL Block, now on Saturday, July 27, 2024

RESCHEDULING UPDATE: 

A planned electrical power shutdown has been rescheduled and will now take place on Saturday, July 27, 2024 (original back-up date) in W.G. Davis Building (JKL Block) and the Recreation, Athletics and Wellness Centre (RAWC).   Please refer to the attached floor plans for areas of impact. 

To minimize the number of needed disruptions, this planned service interruption is to facilitate needed switchgear modifications for multiple projects:
