Payam Zahedi

Payam Zahedi is the Director of UTM’s Office of the Vice-Principal, Research. 

Since receiving his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from U of T, under the supervision of Professor Christine Allen, Payam has served a number of leadership positions in Canada.

Starting in 2012, he supported the Chair of the Radiation Medicine Program at the Princess Margaret Cancer Center on research and operational activities. In 2015, he was the Manager of Science Affairs and Knowledge Mobilization at the Ontario Institute for Regenerative Medicine, before starting in the role of Scientific Manager for UofT’s Medicine by Design Program. His last post was as Director of Strategic Planning and Operations at UBC where he helped launch the School of Biomedical Engineering.

Payam’s leadership abilities, along with experiences in research administration and partnership forming, enables the OVPR to continue to provide outstanding support to the UTM research community.
