About the Work Study Program at U of T

Work Study is the University of Toronto's largest Work Integrated Learning* program. The program offers on-campus paid work experience. The program provides through meaningful work opportunities for students to develop life and career skills that can later be transfer to future career possibilities. Work Study is a great opportunity for U of T Faculty and Staff to become mentors and role models, and contribute to students' career development. 

The Work Study Program is offered twice each year (fall/winter, and summer). 

The program offers two streams:

  • Work Experience Stream
  • Research Experience Stream 

All Work Study positions are CCR recognized (see the CCR website to learn more). That is, after the student has completed their Work Study position, the Work Study Supervisor validates the opportunity in the student's CCR.

Detailed information about the program, including program requirements and supervisor eligibility requirements, can be found in the Career and Co-Curricular Learning Network (CLNx). CLNx is the tri-campus career services hub. Log into your Staff/Faculty CLNx account with your UTORid and password to learn more about the Work Study.

The UTM Career Centre offers one-to-one appointments to support your path as a Work Study supervisor. Book a one-to-one appointment to ask questions about how the program can support you as a supervisor and how you can support a student's career development.
