Program Related Skills

Academic courses in this program provide opportunities to develop the following types of skills. Make a career counselling or an employment strategy appointment to discuss how you can demonstrate these skills to employers.

  • Attention to Detail: Work with precision during examination of crime scenes and lab results, which can also be useful during quality control, software testing, hypothesis testing and auditing.
  • Collaboration / Teamwork: Work with others in interdisciplinary teams on projects and assignments to achieve mutual goal
  • Communication: Write technical reports and/or verbally present examination or experimental findings in a clear, concise manner for different audiences.
  • Critical Thinking / Problem Solving: Ability to systematically approach problems during experimentation and evidence analysis.
  • Ethical Awareness: Understand the ethical implications of evidence handling and reporting, as well as the importance of professionalism within the field.
