Continue to develop a focus: 

• Work with a career counsellor to continue to assess yourself, reflect on your experiences and make career decisions. 

• Talk with professionals in your field to gain more insight via the Job Shadow Program and In the Field events, plus the networking events and panels offered by the Career Centre. 

Gain relevant experience: 

• Develop a job search plan with an employment strategist to focus on your areas of interest. 

• Use the job postings on the CLNx, which includes part-time, summer and volunteer opportunities available. on-campus and with off-campus employers.

• Attend Get Hired Fair (September and January) and information sessions to connect with employers. 

• Work with an employment strategist to develop a strong LinkedIn profile. 

Start networking: 

• Learn and polish your networking skills; review the networking tipsheet and work with an employment strategist.

• Attend networking events to meet employers and professionals in your field.

• Use LinkedIn to connect with professionals in your field.
