Academic courses in this program provide opportunities to develop the following types of skills. Learn how to review your course syllabus to help identify specific skills gained in your coursework in our Skills Articulation (SA) modules. Make a career counselling or an employment strategy appointment to discuss how you can demonstrate these skills to employers.
Some examples can include:
- Attention to Detail: Edit and revise written work to spot errors and inconsistencies.
- Critical Analysis: Critically analyze English literature across different time periods, genres, perspectives and formats.
- Oral / Written Communication: Effectively convey information and concepts, with an ability to adapt communication to suit diverse audiences.
- Problem Solving: Approach projects with unique perspective and creativity, with an ability to reason logically and formulate relevant clarifying questions.
- Research & Analytical: Gather, evaluate and synthesize information from a range of primary (i.e., original works) and secondary sources (i.e., literature reviews).
