Directors
Felicity Morgan, Director
As the Director, Felicity is constantly exploring new ways to facilitate career education and deliver the highest quality experience to students at UTM. She aims for deep engagement in career education for all UTM students and supports the Career Centre team in reaching this goal. Felicity sees students as a career counselor because she loves doing it and it keeps her connected to students and their needs. With experience at all three UT campuses and in non-profit agencies, she has had many opportunities to learn and implement best practices. Outside of work, Felicity finds being active outdoors crucial for her mental health. An avid reader since childhood, she welcomes suggestions from all genres and backgrounds.

Career Development Unit
Our Career Development Unit supports students with personalized career counseling and employment guidance. Our Career Counsellors, holding a Master of Education in Counselling and various certifications, have extensive experience. Our Employment Strategists, with credentials like the Career Development Practitioner Certificate, excel in job search strategies. Together, they empower students with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate the job market and achieve their career goals.
Carolina Pombo, Career Counsellor
Carolina is a career counsellor registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario and the Canadian Counsellors Association. She helps students to gain more insights on the factors that may be important in their career journeys including personality traits, cultural values, skills, family relationships among others and helps them to foster authentic career stories. Carolina specializes in international experiences and global careers, as also in trauma-informed career counselling, and coping skills for career and performance anxiety.

Dan Zamfir, Career Counsellor
Dan started his career at UTM as a Master’s practicum student back in 2021 and has now been working as a Career Counsellor for 2 years. As a Registered Psychotherapist with 5+ years of experience, Dan takes a non-judgmental approach to career counselling that is rooted in open communication and goal setting.
When he’s not working at UofT, he loves spending time at the park with his dog, playing golf with friends, or trying out different types of video games.

Jamie Kunkel, Career Counsellor
Jamie has over 8 years of experience in the post-secondary career development field and worked at the University of Guelph-Humber, UTSC Career Centre and UTSC Arts and Science co-op before joining the UTM Career Centre. She is currently completing her MEd in educational research, interdisciplinary studies, with a combined focus in inclusive education and school and counselling psychology. Jamie believes in the importance of resilience in career development and encourages students to start with their strengths and view setbacks as an opportunity to learn.
Outside of her time at work and school, Jamie enjoys distance running (very slowly), listening to true crime podcasts, Legos, puzzles and watching copious amounts of reality TV.

Lucille Yi, Employment Strategist
Lucille is an Employment Strategist - International who leverages her past experience in government, non-profit and recruiting to specialize in helping international students (and domestic students!) discover job opportunities both in Canada and abroad. She has worked in China, Türkiye and Canada.

Ron Wener, Employment Strategist
Ron is a passionate career educator who brings over 30 years of career development experience working with university students. He has worked in each of the three UofT Campus Career Centres in addition to his experience at the Arts and Science Co-op Office at UTSC and UOIT (now Ontario Tech University). Ron is a proud UofT Alumnus (BA English), has extensive training in employment laws and workplace accommodation in addition to his training from the George Brown College’s Career and Work Counsellor Program.
Ron is an active member of the UTM community. You will often see him at various campus events or on his daily walks on-campus earning his reputation as a deer whisperer. He was re-elected to serve as the Administrative Staff Representative on UTM Campus Council for a three-year term beginning July 2023.

Sheila Lau, Employment Strategist
With 5+ years of experience in post-secondary student services, Sheila is a highly adaptable Career Development Practitioner focused on providing an inclusive, student-focused approach to her practice. A fellow UTM alumni with an Honours Bachelor of Sciences in Psychology and double minor in Business and Sociology, she obtained her Career Development Practitioner Post-Graduate Certificate at George Brown College after she sparked her curiosity in the career development field from her work-study positions at the UTM Career Centre.
Prior to obtaining her CDP certificate, Sheila engaged in various industries, including: supporting people with disabilities with UTM Accessibility Services and Community on Campus; advocating with an NGO in the Philippines for universal digital rights; mentoring interns at a start-up company; and, performing traditional Chinese dances on TV.

Sooin Park, Employment Strategist
Sooin is a passionate Certified Career Development Practitioner in Ontario with extensive facilitating and counselling experience in community and educational settings. She has her Master of Education in Adult Education from Rutgers University and Career Counselling diploma from George Brown College. Prior to joining the team at the UTM Career Centre in 2021, she worked in the PEY Co-op program, U of T and various not-for-profit organizations for over 15 years. As a vivid lifelong learner, she is enthusiastic about solution-focused coaching related to a wide variety of employment issues and maximizing to support students' career development and job search process.

Data & Assessment
The Data Analysis and Assessment Team supports the University of Toronto Mississauga Career Centre (UTM Career Centre) and its partners with data analysis, assessment, evaluation, and research. Our goal is to foster a culture of evidence building and data-informed decision making. Our approach is centered on high quality data, data literacy, collaborative partnerships, and continuous improvement. Our impact is visible as we equip students and recent graduates with the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviours to self-assess, explore career options, gain experience, express skills, pursue learning, reflect, and make informed career decisions.
Chrystal Colquhoun, Data and Assessment Analyst; Supervisor, Organizational Research Assistant Team
Data is the ink in our storytelling pens. At the UTM Career Centre, Chrystal leads the Data Analysis and Assessment team and mentors a group of organizational research assistants. She values high quality data storytelling to ensure that services meet the specific and evolving needs of University of Toronto students and recent graduates. Chrystal is a University of Toronto alumna and Ontario Institute for Studies in Education graduate student with 10+ years of industry experience. She is actively engaged in the Pursue Learning area of the UTM Career Centre’s career development model.

Employer Relations & Marketing

Jason John, Assistant Director, Employer Relations & Marketing
I serve as the leader of the employer relations and marketing team.
The Employer Relations team acts as a bridge between our employer partners and our diverse student body. The team offers employer partners a variety of creative solutions and packages to enhance their talent pipeline and cultivate their employer brand on campus through events and programs like our Get Hired Career Fairs, the Job Shadow Program, In The Field and the Recent Graduate Opportunities program.
Our dynamic marketing team ensures that our students receive information about all our career workshops, events, and programming, providing them with a wide range of opportunities to participate.

Ala Sabeh, Marketing Assistant
As the Marketing Assistant for the UTM Career Centre, Ala leverages her skills to create marketing materials for campus events and services. She oversees the UTMCC social media accounts and ensures the placement of physical marketing materials across campus. Ala actively maintains and updates the Career Centre website (including this page!), implementing redesigns as necessary. She graduated with an HBA from UTM's Communication, Culture, Information & Technology (CCIT) program and applies her skills to enhance the Centre's outreach and engagement efforts.

Cyriac Vempala, Social Media and Digital Communications Specialist
Cyriac leads the Career Centre Marketing team and focuses on strategically implementing marketing plans for our Services and Events. He supervises and collaborates with the Marketing student staff to create engaging social media content and graphics with priorities on accessibility and inclusivity in all communication material and resources.
Along with the Marketing team, he maintains up-to-date digital assets on various platforms strengthening Career Centre online presence, making our services more accessible and appealing to everyone.
With an educational background in Design and years of experience in various industries including Fashion and Finance, Cyriac brings a unique perspective and expertise to our team.

Dimitra Tsalpouris, Graduate Opportunities Outreach Coordinator
Dimitra oversees the Recent Graduate Opportunities Program (RGOP). She supports recent graduates as they transition from university to the workplace and she works directly with employers to help them build strong talent pipelines with RGOP and UTM.

Jessi Li, Industry Engagement Specialist
As an Industry Engagement Specialist, Jesse works to build strong relationships with employers in multiple sectors to help bridge the gap between students and employers by creating opportunities for the two to connect. Through these relationships, he is able to help set up major networking and hiring events on campus for students to attend and see the in-demand roles and gain valuable up-to-date insights for their industry.

Shanzey Ahmed, Industry Engagement Specialist
In her role at the UTM Career Centre, Shanzey engages with employers from diverse sectors such as education, non-profit, and government to navigate the intricacies of recruiting early talent and to guide them in connecting with UTM students. She partners with HR experts and UofT alumni across these fields to facilitate student career development. Additionally, Shanzey organizes large-scale events and engagement sessions aimed at creating equitable opportunities for all students, including those facing employment barriers.
With a background in higher education, social services, and student affairs, Shanzey is a collaborative professional with over 6 years of experience dedicated to promoting an engaged and empowering student experience.

Maria Dumdumaya, Career Outreach Assistant

Dino, Assisted Therapy Dog
Dino (pronounced dee-no) is a friendly, 4-year-old, mix-breed, rescue dog from Antigua. He is a licensed, Assisted Therapy Dog with Lifeline Canada and assist his owner, April, during outreach activities at the Career Centre.
You will see him in the Hub and at tabling events so feel free to come say hello and pet him if you'd like. He's a great listener and his favourite things are afternoon naps and belly-rubs.

Resource Centre Unit
The RCU team works together on front-line services at the UTM Career Centre to help students with appointment booking and finding the right resource for their needs. They work with student staff who direct other students to materials they can use on their career journey.

Our technologically advanced staff members are dedicated to finding innovative solutions to any technical challenges we may have. They are always ready to assist with any issues, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Beyond their technical expertise, our team also captures memorable moments at all our events.
José G. Chacón, Business and Operations Coordinator
José supports students, faculty and staff with the Work Study Program and the UTM community with the CLNx system. Furthermore, he supports the UTM Career Centre team with finance and accounting duties, and ensures the department follows and complies with University policies and procedures outlined in the Guide to Financial Management (GTFM). Moreover, the UTM Career Centre team receives José’s support with behind-the-scenes tech and admin support.

Sevvie Acar-Hammudeh, eLearning Specialist
As the eLearning Specialist at the UTM Career Centre, Sevvie utilizes her expertise to create inclusive and engaging online learning experiences that are grounded in universal design and adult learning principles. Her background in adult education, curriculum, instructional design and employment consultancy enables her to bring a blend of pedagogy and technology to her role.
Sevvie holds an MBA in Educational Management and is the recipient of the Canadian 2020-2021 Governor General’s Award. While serving as an educator in global higher educational institutions, she conducted research on the effective use of technology in education, and presented at international conferences. Her personal interests include hygge, arts, travelling and mindful self-compassion.

Miguel DaSilva, Technical Support Assistant
Miguel supports general inquiries and issues with CLNx from students, staff, and faculty. His role works with the Career Centre and other SAS departments in using CLNx to create and administer appointments and events on CLNx. Miguel also lead Records Management at the Career Centre. You'll also find him taking student LinkedIn photos and carrying a camera around our many events offered to students.
