Changes to OVPRI's Research and Partnership support

In order to reflect the evolving nature of the roles, and support the advancement of the OVPRI’s objectives, we have made some changes to the Strategic Research Development Officer positions. 

Stefanie Bernaudo has taken on the role of Partnerships and Awards Specialist. In this position, Stefanie supports the enhancement and expansion of research and innovation partnership activities while also serving as staff lead for the development of faculty awards and honours nominations.

The two other Strategic Research Development Officer positions have been retitled to Research Development Specialist, with the following responsibilities:

  • Anastassia Pogoutse will be the lead for applications to NSERC and CIHR programs, CFI programs, and Canada Research Chair (CRC) nominations. In addition, she will be the first point of contact for the sciences disciplines.
  • Kate Steinmann will be the lead for applications to SSHRC and CIHR programs, as well as research grant workshops and information sessions organized by the UTM OVPRI. Furthermore, she will be the first point of contact for the social sciences and humanities disciplines.

OVPRI welcomes new Interim AVPRIs

We are pleased to announce that two new AVPRIs have joined our office. Professor Yuhong He (Department of Geography, Geomatics and Environment) joins the OVPRI team as Interim Associate Vice-Principal, Research and Innovation – Facilities. Professor Daniel (Danny) Wright (Department of English & Drama) is our new Interim Associate Vice-Principal, Research and Innovation – Special Initiatives. Both positions will run until June 30, 2025.

The University of Toronto is ranked first in Canada and 26th globally in the latest edition of ShanghaiRanking Consultancy’s worldwide university ranking. UTM psychologist studies the ways people view the world

When Anna Kosovicheva was an undergraduate student at the University of California Berkley, she took a psychology class for the first time.
