UTM Mobility Network: Summer Internship Award (Professional Graduate Programs)

The Mobility Network at the University of Toronto Mississauga is thrilled to introduce the recent recipients of the 2024 Summer Internship Awards (Professional Graduate Programs).

Yueyao Liu (Master of Urban Innovation) has been awarded a UTM Mobility Network grant, to contribute to the important field of knowledge around mobility in our communities.

Yueyao Liu, a student enrolled in the Master of Urban Innovation has joined the Transportation and Works Department of the City of Mississauga. Yueyao will assist the Transportation Planner of the Active Transportation team to support the implementation of the City of Mississauga’s Shared Micro-mobility Program, set to launch in Spring 2024. A major focus of the role will be to bring the monitoring and evaluation framework for the program into operation.

 

 

Mitan Mzouri (Master of Science in Sustainability Management) has been awarded a UTM Mobility Network grant to research decarbonizing in the transportation sector.

Mitan Mzouri is currently completing his MSc in Sustainability Management from the University of Toronto Mississauga. His research is focused on decarbonizing the transportation sector through innovative technological and policy-based solutions. This summer, he is interning with The Atmospheric Fund (TAF), an organization dedicated to accelerating EV uptake as one of their primary areas of focus. As a Research and Innovation Junior Analyst at TAF, he will support the GTHA carbon emissions inventory, conduct research and analysis on promising carbon reduction solutions, and quantify the impacts of previous TAF projects.


The Mobility Network, an Institutional Strategic Initiative, allocates funding to support graduate students enrolled in University of Toronto Mississauga Professional Graduate Programs in support of the Mobility Network’s mission to foster interdisciplinary mobility research that addresses equity and promotes resilient, sustainable, and just urban growth and prosperity. The Mobility Network wishes our award recipients an enriching work experience in their summer internships.
