ICUBE and U of T Entrepreneurship deliver sessions and celebrate wins in Boston
Innovation and inspiration in entrepreneurship at the University of Toronto were on full display at the annual Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers Conference in Boston, Massachusetts this November. Both ICUBE and U of T Entrepreneurship delivered compelling sessions at the conference, with U of T taking home two awards, for which IMI’s ICUBE team joined U of T Director of Entrepreneurship Jon French in accepting on behalf of the university.
ICUBE, IMI’s entrepreneurship hub and the home of social entrepreneurship at the University of Toronto Mississauga, delivered a timely conference session on “How to Monetize Incubator Spaces” to a packed auditorium with delegates from around the world. ICUBE shared successes in the ICUBE studio, discussed their Innovation Challenge in Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability, and gave insight into their work with partners and donors. French, representing U of T Entrepreneurship, delivered a lightning session on "Sustainability across U of T incubators", another incredibly well-received session.
IMI congratulates University of Toronto Entrepreneurship on winning “Outstanding Contributions to Venture Creation” and being the sole runner-up in the category of “Exceptional Activities in Entrepreneurship Across Disciplines”. ICUBE’s role in enabling U of T to achieve these awards is noteworthy; the ICUBE team has been a champion for U of T Entrepreneurship at this conference for many years, and their continual efforts in sustainability, equity, diversity, inclusion and social impact, under the guidance of Professor Ann Armstrong, contributed to the award nomination.
IMI’s ICUBE team – Ignacio Mongrell, Kayla Sousa and Mo Tahvili – joined French in celebrating the University’s achievements at this international event, with 700 delegates, 200 schools, and 30 countries represented.
