Focal Point
Focal point (white cross) is a tool you can use to assign a focal point to your image when uploading or editing image media. When an image is displayed through a media view mode that crops it, the image will use the point as its centre.
You can click preview to see how the image will appear in different view modes.
The focal point only works if it crops the image. If the source is the rendered sized, it will not need to be cropped and the focus will be default centre.
