Maanjiwe nendamowinan
Maanjiwe nendamowinan (formerly North Building phase B) opened in the summer of 2018. The building is certified LEED Silver.
The building features:
- more than 80 percent of the waste from the demolition of the old building was recycled or reused
- recycled and locally sourced building materials
- a green cleaning program
- low-emitting paints, sealants, coatings and flooring systems
- the building is extremely water-efficient, using 88 percent less potable water than a conventional building
- a rainwater reuse system, with a capacity of 20,000 gallons — the collected rainwater is used for irrigation and toilet flushing
- energy-efficient mechanical systems, which are expected to use 22 percent less energy than a conventional building
