What is the Collegiate Leadership Competition?

The Collegiate Leadership Competition (CLC) is an international competition that provides students passionate about leadership with a practice field. We recruit and coach a team of current UTM students who compete at the CLC. There are two competitions:

  1. Canadian Regional Competition at Wilfrid Laurier University (Brantford, Ontario) in March 2025
  2. Global Virtual Competition in April 2025

During both competitions, each team is given 6 different challenges to complete. Teams are judged on how well they work together and to what extent they finish each challenge. Also, each team member leads one of the six challenges and receives feedback on their leadership performance.

Team Commitment

Attend mandatory practice (~26 hrs) Through attending weekly practices, UTM team members learn the CLC's leadership curriculum and practice taking on challenges as a team. Our new and returning coaches have participated in the competition in past years, and are eager to get this year's team ready. Last year they helped the team achieve 4th place both regionally and globally!

  • Practices are Mondays from 5:00-7:00pm, January 6th to April 7th 2025. There will be no practice during reading week.
  • Practices are in-person at UTM leading up to the in-person competition (January 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th; February 3rd, 10th, 24th; March 3 and 10th)
