Lucas is a second-year student majoring in both sociocultural and linguistic anthropology (focus on medical anthropology) and archaeology at the St. George campus. Lucas wishes to learn more about the intersection between subsistence strategies of past humans through the analysis of phytolith remains and its impact on the societies in which it was practiced. Lucas’s research interests inspired him to volunteer at the RLEA to discover the intriguing ways in which plant remains are prepared, examined, and analyzed to uncover fascinating details of the subsistence strategies of pre-historic humans.
