The RLEA is currently under construction. It is expected to include three laboratory spaces in the Terrence Donnelly Health Sciences Complex (HSC): the dirty lab (HSC419A, macrobotanical preparation and processing, comparative material sample preparation, and CFIA permitted sediment and plant storage facilities), the clean wet lab (HSC421, microbotanical processing) and the microscope lab (HSC421A, macrobotanical and microbotanical analysis and comparative collection storage).

The RLEA will also have priority access to a high spec GPU node housed and maintained by the UTM I&ITS (Dell PowerEdge R750XA rack featuring two NVIDA Ampere 80 GB GPUs).
