What’s New in Tech at U of T

Here’s a quick look at the latest tech upgrades designed to support how you work, learn, and collaborate across the university.
Mass Email System Gets an Upgrade
U of T’s LISTSERV system—which sends more than 500 messages daily to over 125,000 recipients—is getting a much-needed refresh.
You can expect:
More consistent and reliable delivery
Better performance during peak times
Future tools like email engagement analytics
As part of the upgrade, outdated or inactive mailing lists will be removed to keep things running smoothly.
New Policy to Protect Your Inbox
To reduce phishing and improve email security, U of T is rolling out a new policy (called DMARC) that helps verify official messages.
U of T addresses like @utoronto.ca will update first
Department-specific domains will follow in 2025
This will make it easier to spot trusted messages—and filter out fraudulent ones.
Microsoft Forms Bug: What to Know
