The year is 1569. In a cold stone room in a Staffordshire castle, four women sew intricate tapestries, weaving their lives together. The tapestry makers express their deepest longings, their loves, and their grief, in their rich designs - escaping the castle through their craft. The strength and power these four women find in their stitching changes their own paths and that of English history.
