Marvin Lam has a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics and a Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics and Language Technology, with decade-long experience in teaching and research in Language and Communication, Discourse Studies, English for Academic and Specific Purposes and Linguistics. Marvin also worked as a grant-maker and project manager, practicing corporate communication in philanthropy.

At University of Toronto Mississauga, Marvin teaches the undergraduate course of Writing for University and Beyond, and provides one-on-one guidance to students at the Robert Gillespie Academic Skills Centre (RGASC). Marvin also provides writing instruction at Health Sciences Writing Centre (HSWC) and Centre for Professional Skills (CPS) in Rotman Commerce at University of Toronto.
