Laura Smith (she/her) is the Outreach and Engagement Coordinator for the Robert Gillespie Academic Skills Centre. In her role, Laura works collaboratively to lead outreach activities by connecting with members of the university community to create awareness, build connections and foster collaborations to promote and enhance the Centre’s programming and workshops.

Laura has a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Waterloo, a Master of Arts in History from Queen’s University and a PhD in History from the University of Toronto. Before joining the Academic Skills Centre, Laura worked in program and curriculum development roles at University of Toronto Mississauga, McMaster University and most recently with the University of Toronto’s tri-campus Critical Digital Humanities Initiative. She is passionate about supporting student success and creating high-quality learning experiences for both students and instructors.
