Laura McKinley is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the department of Social and Political Thought at York University. While pursuing her Ph.D., Laura was also a Graduate Educational Developer at York University’s Teaching Commons. In this role, Laura supported fellow graduate students by collaborating with Faculty, Graduate Program Directors, and Teaching Assistants to design and facilitate workshops to address emerging issues in teaching and learning. She was also involved in creating and redesigning graduate professional development workshops to introduce and to better align content with the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI).

As the UDL and Accessible Pedagogy Coordinator, Laura will support and promote UDL and Accessible Pedagogy across UTM through resource development and workshops. She will guide faculty and instructors on incorporating UDL and accessible pedagogy/practices into programs, course design, and classroom instruction. She will also collaborate with other members of the RGASC on projects where UDL and accessibility intersect with other RGASC initiatives.
