This past November, ICCIT Director Sarah Sharma spoke at Healthy Cities, Healthy People 2024. Hosted by Women's College Hospital in Toronto, this event explored the potential of digital technologies to transform healthcare in meaningful ways. This included increasing access, enhancing patient experiences, reducing costs, accelerating information sharing, and advancing public health research.

Opening remarks from Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow emphasized the importance of leveraging digital innovation to create healthier, more equitable cities, particularly for under-served populations. Sharma's talk, entitled Digital Selfie Care, specifically examined the digital capture of self-care through platforms such as TikTok.
