“I help our licensing officers to license MIT’s technology to different industries,” says Ana Laura, who previously held a position as a physics instructor at Boston College High School.
“The biggest challenge is to deal with so many different people such as attorneys, inventors and companies. They all have different opinions on the technology and what to do with it. Sometimes it is hard to negotiate a deal.”
She says a person in her position needs to know how to deal with people and have negotiating skills.
“A lot of patience and the love for investigation are always very helpful,” she says.
“The reward of this position is to see so many of our technologies be further developed and commercialized. There is a lot of great and useful technology that comes from our labs to public use."
