UTM Student Affairs and Services: SafeTALK Training for Students
Student Affairs & Services is excited to invite interested students to participate in LivingWorks SafeTALK, an in-person training free and open to all UTM students, that equips people to be alert to someone thinking of suicide and better able to connect them with further help. SafeTALK provides skills training for active listening and understanding, before learning how to refer someone to support. The second half of SafeTALK then moves into community myths about suicide that frequently prevent appropriate referrals. As an in-person workshop, SafeTALK provides an avenue for participants to ask questions clarify any concerns in person and apply their skills in a practice session. Please note that spaces are limited, and that registration is on a first-come first-served basis.
If you are interested in participating in the training, please complete this registration form (session dates and times therein) to receive further information and details.
