Mid-Autumn Festival

The Mid-Autumn Festival takes place on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar, on the day of a full moon, and it is celebrated in many different cultures. Our Chinese language instructors shared the traditions followed in Chinese culture with the UTM community on Wednesday, September 18. Over 50 students, as well as two faculty and staff members, attended this event.

They then participated in singing a song to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. Everyone learned to sing Dàn Yuàn Rén Cháng Jiǔ (May We All be Blessed with Longevity):

Finally, participants formed six groups and took turns attempting to score points in the traditional arrow-throwing game, 投壶 (tóu hú):
