Canadian High School
General Requirements
- High school diploma
- Senior level prerequisite courses
- In Ontario: at least six Grade 12 U or M courses, including ENG4U with a minimum grade of 70%
- Outside Ontario: Senior Grade 12 English with a minimum grade of 70%

- Minimum overall average of at least 75%
- In Ontario, this is calculated using ENG4U + best five grade 12 U or M courses
Admission Policies
- If a Grade 12/Senior mark in a prerequisite course is not yet available, we will use the mark in the corresponding Grade 11/junior course.
- We will make conditional offers of admission throughout the year on the basis of your available Grade 11/junior AND Grade 12/Senior marks (or equivalent).
- We reserve the right to give preference to students whose marks are the result of a single attempt at each course.
- Every program recommends competitive averages; meeting these minimum requirements does not guarantee you admission to the University.
- Admissions is subject to space availability and competition.
Generally speaking, all programs require:
- High school diploma (OSSD)
- At least six (6) Grade 12 U or M courses
- One of the above six courses must be ENG4U (minimum grade of 70%)
- Minimum overall average (ENG4U + best five grade 12 U or M courses) of at least 75%

CEGEP General Requirements
- Twelve academic courses (excluding courses numbered 109), including English/Anglais (2 terms)
- Calculus 1 is required for programs with a Calculus prerequisite
- Most programs will use the Cote de Rendement (R score) for admission and scholarship consideration. In addition, we will review your entire academic record, including multiple failures and repeated courses.
- R-Score of mid-20s or more is required for admission consideration. More competitive programs require a higher R-score.
- Transfer credits will be granted to CEGEP candidates who have completed more than 14 academic courses in arts, science, business/commerce programs.
- If you are currently in your second year or have completed three or more semesters of a CEGEP program, find out more about admissions requirements from a Canadian university or college.

U of T considers home-schooled applicants. Your application should include the following:
- A letter stating that you have been home schooled
- Course outlines
- Textbooks used
- Method of evaluation used
- Samples of your written work
- Relevant details of any independent evaluations, including transcripts, if applicable
- Official results of any standardized tests taken such as SAT Reasoning Tests, SAT Subject Tests or Advanced Placement Exams
If you are applying to a science or commerce/management program, completion of Ontario Grade 12U/M level courses/Advanced Placement exams/International Baccalaureate exams in prerequisite subjects is strongly recommended.

If a senior-grade/Grade 12 mark is not available, we will use a corresponding junior/Grade 11 course's mark.

Applicants who cannot or choose not to submit SAT or ACT test results will not be disadvantaged in the admissions process. If you wish to have these considered in the admission process, you are encouraged to have them submitted.
