Preparing You for Undergraduate Studies
At the end of the Fall-Winter session, you will receive a final letter grade for the ACE@UTM program, and you will earn your first cumulative grade point average (CGPA) for your UTM undergraduate courses. A grade of 'B' or higher is required to meet the English proficiency requirements. A CGPA greater than or equal to 1.5 is required to be in good academic standing.
We encourage you to use the table below to help you keep your goals in mind. The following are the possible outcomes from the Fall-Winter ACE@UTM program.
OUTCOME 1 Final ACE@UTM Grade: B or higher CGPA in UTM Courses: 1.50 or higher | You have cleared your English proficiency condition! - You will be permitted to proceed with full-time undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto Mississauga in the next academic session.

OUTCOME 2 Final ACE@UTM Grade: B or higher
CGPA in UTM Courses: Less than 1.50 | You may study at UTM on a reduced course load. - You have satisfied the English proficiency condition!
- You may continue with your studies at UTM on a reduced academic course load. You may take a maximum of 3.0 credits in the Fall-Winter session and a maximum of 1.5 credits in the Summer.
- Once you pass at least 4.0 credits with a CGPA of 2.0 or above, you may request to remove this restriction by petition through the Office of the Registrar or during an appointment with a Student Success Representative or an Academic Advisor in the Office of the Registrar.

OUTCOME 3 Final ACE@UTM Grade: B- or below
CGPA in UTM Courses: 1.50 or higher | You must satisfy the English language requirement before taking additional courses at UTM. - Submit new, acceptable English language proficiency test score to the University of Toronto prior to taking additional courses at UTM. Dates and deadlines may apply.
- Once you do so, you will proceed with your academic studies, with no further credit restrictions.

OUTCOME 4 Final ACE@UTM Grade: B- or below
CGPA in UTM Courses: Less than 1.50 | You must satisfy the English language requirement before taking additional courses at UTM. An acceptable score will permit you to enrol in courses on academic probation. - Submit new, acceptable English language proficiency test score to the University of Toronto prior to taking additional courses at UTM. Dates and deadlines may apply.
- Once you submit acceptable proof of English proficiency you will be eligible to enrol in UTM courses on academic probation. You will be restricted to a reduced course load and may take a maximum of 3.0 credits in the Fall-Winter session, and a maximum of 1.5 credits in the Summer.
- Once you pass at least 4.0 credits with a CGPA of 2.0 or above, you may request to remove this restriction by petition through the Office of the Registrar or during an appointment with a Student Success Representative or an Academic Advisor in the Office of the Registrar.
