Sharing Good News in ITA!
Ethan Salerno Nogueira, an undergraduate student in DLS (Italian Studies), has won first place in the Humanities category of the UTMSU Undergraduate Research Symposium.
His participation in the symposium stemmed from ITA339Y5Y: Exploring Italian Culture, taught by Dr. Paola Bernardini. The project is entitled “Dialoguing with a Tortoise: Considerations of Language and Agency with Italo Calvino” and seeks to fashion the short story into a socio-cultural access point through its valuation of language. It highlights how human agency can be renegotiated to form a sustainable understanding of animals beyond the realm of the short story.
Congratulations!
