ITA307 Students Meet Italian Director, Leonardo Guerra Seràgnoli

ITA307 students with L. Guerra Seràgnoli

This month, students in ITA307H5 (Italian Novels on the Big Screen), taught by Dr. Paola Bernardini, were thrilled to meet with Italian director and producer, Leonardo Guerra Seràgnoli. On September 11, he met with students to discuss his film, The Time of Indifference (2020), which was adapted from Alberto Moravia’s novel of the same name. He spoke with the students about working on the cinematic adaptation of the novel and shared the various artistic cinematic techniques he used. Students then watched the film and analyzed the novel before meeting Leonardo Guerra Seràgnoli again on September 25 for a Q&A. Guerra Seràgnoli is in Toronto for the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) to present his new film, Vermiglio (produced by Guerra Seràgnoli and directed by Maura Delpero), which won the Silver Lion for Best Direction at the Venice Film Festival earlier this month.
