Kylie Caraway

Kylie Caraway is an assistant professor, teaching stream, LTA in the Institute of Communication, Culture, Information & Technology. Kylie is a media designer, filmmaker, and research-based artist. Her work focuses on the interplay between academic and design research, storytelling, digital media production, information visualization, and interactive technologies. She has collaborated with organizations including Sequoia Parks Conservancy, Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks, Surfrider Foundation Canada, OCAD University, and the Canadian Film Centre Media Lab (CFC). Her directorial work has been featured at festivals including Hot Docs International Film Festival, Busan International Film Festival, Planet in Focus Film Festival, as well as in news media including CBC's Radio-Canada and the LA Times.

Research:

Kylie’s research encompasses both conventional scholarship as well as research-based art practices. Her work explores the intersection between art and science through an examination of how new media technologies impact communications for sustainability and environmental conservation efforts.
