Appointed staff, faculty, and librarians at the University of Toronto Mississauga Campus are invited to bring their children, in grades 5 to 8, to join them at work on Bring Our Children to Work Day on Thursday, May 2, 2024.
About Bring Our Children to Work Day
The University of Toronto Bring Our Children to Work Day is based on a program that began a number of years ago in the United States by Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day® – “a program dedicated to helping children explore their future opportunities at work, at home, and in their community.” Many workplaces in Canada, including the University of Toronto, will host events for the children of their staff and faculty in 2024.
UTM has designed Bring Our Children to Work Day where children will participate in activities and be exposed to the UTM campus. In the morning the children will have group tours and engage in fun activities.
Parents will pick up their children for lunch, and following lunch, the children will job shadow their parents/guardians and get an opportunity to further explore the work environment and the Mississauga campus with their parents/guardians.
Activities of the Day
The activities of the day include: official welcome, guest speaker, departmental / lab visit, gym time, lunch, and job shadowing with parents/guardians.
