Hear from our students!

Hi! My name is Lorianne and I was a part of the PreMed (formerly BioLLC) during the 2019-2020 School year. It was an amazing experience and I would recommend it to anyone interested in pursuing an education in the sciences, specifically biology. Living in the LLC gives you the opportunity to live in a close-knit community of other students who are studying the same things you are! This increases opportunity for study groups and peer learning. Also, every Living & Learning Community has their own PAL (now LLC PF), short for Peer Academic Leader (LLC Programming Facilitator), who is a direct line to everything you need to know about your major(s) and a current student who has been in your shoes before. In LLCs, there are also events called Faculty Field Trips. During my year, on one of the field trips, we visited Ripley's Aquarium downtown with Professor Richter and Professor Patel. This was an amazing experience for me as I love marine biology and that being one of Professor Richter's areas of expertise, I learned so much on that trip. Being a part of the PreMed LLC really enhanced my second year learning experience and I will always be grateful that I was a part of the community.
