Howard F. Andrews Memorial Award
Professor Howard Andrews research and teaching focused on urban structure, environmental design and cooperative housing, contemporary social theory, the participation of women in the workplace and children’s health. This award recognises a student who has demonstrated excellence in social and political Geography, with emphasis on social welfare and healthy cities.
Ferenc (Ferko) Csillag Memorial Award
This award was established in memory of Professor Ferko Csillag, a former departmental Chair. Ferko was an internationally recognized expert in geomatics and GIS. The award recognises an exceptional student pursuing undergraduate studies with a major in GIS or a major or specialist Geography, with demonstrated excellence in geostatistics and remote
Dan Fitzgerald Memorial Scholarship
Dan Fitzgerald teaching and research focused on wetlands. He loved fieldwork and worked tirelessly with undergraduate and graduate students to implement fieldwork as part of their thesis projects. This award is given to one or more upper-year student(s) studying physical geography and undertaking fieldwork.
Urban Geography Prize In Memory of Professor Gunter Gad
Professor Gad was committed to experiential learning and fieldwork in Geography. The prize recognizes an outstanding undergraduate student engaged in urban fieldwork and research.
