Happy holidays from the University of Toronto Mississauga
In her annual holiday message, Alexandra Gillespie, University of Toronto vice-president and principal, U of T Mississauga, joins students and members of the UTM community to reflect on this year’s many accomplishments and share warm wishes for the holiday season.
Over the past year, UTM broke ground on a new residence building; ushered in a new era of life science innovation with the opening of the New Science Building; created a space for connection and belonging with the Interim Centre for Black Excellence and Belonging; brought people together for the first outdoor All-Nation’s Powwow; and launched UTM’s first co-op internship program, matching students with top employers across the region.
UTM was also recognized internationally with a gold rating for sustainability achievements.
“It’s been a great year,” Gillespie says.
She encourages the UTM community to take some time to rest and relax as the holiday season approaches.
“It’s that time of year where it gets a bit cold and dark, but that’s OK because we get to come together with the people we love, in joy and friendship.
“From all of us here, happy holidays.”
