Holiday Closures

Please note that the University of Toronto Mississauga will be closed for the holidays starting Monday, December 23, 2024 at 11 p.m., reopening and resuming regular hours of operation on Monday, January 6, 2025 (6 a.m.).


U of T Mississauga Campus Safety

Please note that Campus Safety Services is located in Room #3116 of the William G. Davis Building.

During the holiday closure, all UTM facilities (building points of entry, classrooms, labs, office space, etc.) will be locked and secured.  All UTM community members (faculty, staff, and students) that currently hold TCard access will be able to access spaces they already have access to during the holiday closure.

Please note that default access for UTM community members will be William G. Davis Building main entry, however cardholders with access to other buildings will be able to enter via TCard.  If anyone experiences access issues during the holiday closure, they are advised to contact Campus Safety at (905) 828-5200 as our Special Constables will be on campus 24/7.  Emergency contact number is (905) 569-4333.


Facilities Management & Planning

There will be no Administration, Maintenance, Custodial or Grounds staff on duty during the holiday closure period. However, Maintenance and Caretaking staff are on call for emergencies and Grounds will be on stand by and available for snow removal as required.

Receiving/Shipping will be closed (please notify your suppliers accordingly). Outside garbage will be picked up once a week. Shift engineers will be on duty throughout the holiday closure with backup on call as required. If they are required during the closure, please contact Campus Safety.

Student Housing & Residence Life

UTM Student Housing & Residence Life (SHRL) will remain open over the Winter Break exclusively for students who have been formally pre-approved by SHRL. During this time, no other residents or guests will be permitted in residence. Approved students have received guidelines and contact information for reporting maintenance and safety concerns. Regular on-call shifts and nightly rounds will be conducted by SHRL student staff, with professional and residence staff on-call procedures remaining in effect.

For students staying over the break, the Don-on-Duty service will be available 24/7 from 5:00 PM on December 20, 2024, until 9:00 AM on January 5, 2025. Contact details for Don-on-Duty are available online. To support the student experience during the Winter Break, programming and activities will be offered, with specific events to be announced shortly.

Food services at Colman Commons will close at 5:00 PM on Friday, December 20, 2024, and remain closed during the Winter Break. Students staying on campus will be able to use their meal plan funds with off-campus dining partners. The Residence Service Desk in Oscar Peterson Hall will operate throughout the holiday break, except on December 25, January 1, and January 4. Full hours are available online.

Residences will re-open to all residents at 9:00 AM on Sunday, January 5, 2025. Food services at Colman Commons will resume on the same day at 12:00 PM. For more details, visit the SHRL website.


Student Mental Health

Health and mental health supports will be closed over the holiday closures (December 24, 2024-January 5, 2025) returning on January 6, 2025. Urgent and crisis student mental health needs over the holiday closure should be reported to UTM Campus Safety’s emergency phone line (905-569-4333) or by dialing 9-1-1.  For non-urgent matters, UofT offers immediate, confidential and free multilingual counselling support for school, health and general life concerns 24/7, by phone at 1-844-451-9700 and through the UofT Telus Health Student Support app


Information & Instructional Technology Services (I&ITS)

I&ITS will be closed for the holidays. Service Desk e-mail and voice mail will not be regularly monitored; however periodic checks will be made for urgent requests. Critical services such as the UTM website and internet connection to the St. George campus will be monitored and maintained. All other requests will be reviewed on the week of Jan. 6, 2025.

Parking Services

The Parking Office will be closed for the holidays as of 3:30 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2024 and will resume regular hours at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, January 6, 2025.

The CCT Garage will close at 6 p.m. on Dec. 23rd with exiting privileges only after that.  The CCT Garage will reopen at 7 a.m. on Monday, January 6.

Paid parking and enforcement remain in effect at all times.  Virtual permits can be purchased online

UTM Library

The Library will be closing on Monday, December 23 at 5 p.m. and reopening with regular hours of operation on Monday, January 6 at 8 a.m. Remote access to electronic resources, including the U of T Library Catalogue, will be available throughout this period.


Recreation, Athletics & Wellness Centre

The UTM Recreation, Athletics & Wellness Centre (RAWC) will have modified hours of operation on Monday, December 23rd; the facilities are open from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM.  The RAWC will be closed from December 24, 2024 to January 3, 2025 and will reopen at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4th, 2025.


Bookstore

The UTM Bookstore will close on December 20th at 5pm and will reopen on January 6th at 10am.
