LI-180 handheld spectrometer allows for precise spectral measurements.

How to use LI-180 spectrometer for snapshot measurements:
- Turn on by pressing the power button on the lower left of the equipment.
- Perform dark calibration by following prompt.
- On display, select OPTIONS and update Date and Time.
- Remove sensor cover.
- To measure photon flux density at PAR or UV range, press PPFD on display.
- Press the icon at the bottom-center to measure. You will hear a beep once measurement is completed.
- Press home icon once you are done.
- You can also measure wavebands or spectrum by choosing WAVEBANDS or SPECTRUM on display, respectively. Repeat Step 6 and then Step 7.
- Press VARIABLES on display to customize variables.
- Press on the display and select your variable of interest. Repeat until all four variables of interest are shown on display.
- Repeat Step 6. Repeat step 7 once you are done.
- Press power button to turn off..
LI-180 may also be used to log data at specified intervals for several days. You will need to connect LI-180 on a power supply. Use "Logging", indicate desired "Interval" and start time under "Start". Press icon on the bottom-center of the screen to start and stop logging.
How to use LI-180 spectrometer with mobile app:
Materials:
- 180-08 Wifi SD Card with Micro SD in LI-180 Spectrometer SD slot
- LI-180 Spectrometer app installed on your mobile device
Methods:
A. On LI-180 Spectrometer:
- Turn on spectrometer and follow prompt on dark calibration.
- Go to Options. Set correct date and Time.
- Remove spectrometer sensor cover.
- Place spectrometer in desired location.
B: On Mobile device:
- Change WiFi connection of your mobile device to 180-08 WiFi SD Card. You may see WiFi icon with exclamation point to indicate unsecured connection.
- Open LI-180 app on your mobile device.
- Select PPFD Spectrum on LI-180 app (mobile device). Press the colorful circle icon to measure light intensities.
- Send data to desired email address by pressing the icon with 4 squares then select Mail. Email will be sent after disconnecting to LI-180 SD Card WiFi and reconnecting to the internet.
How to download data:
Since this is a shared device, always copy your files after use.
- Connect LI-180 to your computer using the provided USB cable.
- Open USB Drive folder from File Explorer.
- Copy desired files from USB Drive folder and paste to your destination folder.
- Delete copied files from USB Drive folder.
- Eject USB Device.
- Disconnect LI-180 from computer once it is safe to do so.
