Avery Lam-Hong wins the UTM Student Leadership Award in Leadership Development!
The Department of Biology at University of Toronto Missisauga is proud of Avery Lam-Hong, Biology Health Science Major, as he won the UTM Student Leadership Award in Leadership Development!
"Being the recipient of the UTM Student Leadership Award in Leadership Development is truly an honour.
Taking on extracurricular or non-academic activities has always been rewarding, but by no means does this choice come stress-free. Already working on average full-time hours and also being a full-time student, I had excruciatingly difficult moments of reconsidering my decisions. But I was able to endure the hardships through hard work, dedication, and perseverance in my commitments, as I had initially set out to achieve. The true accomplishment is the invaluable skills, competencies, and experiences gained from such opportunities. Most importantly, inspiring and encouraging those around me to push past their limits and strive for greater heights is the true embodiment of this award. Gaining recognition for my efforts is a privilege in itself, but the real reward is the long-lasting impact I hope to have had on others and the UTM community.
With or without this award, I would hope that my contributions last a legacy and motivate others to reach for their full potential. Nevertheless, I am sincerely thankful for this distinction and would like to extend my deepest gratitude to all those who have supported me along my journey." said Avery.
Congratulations, Avery!
