If you have a food allergy, please inform the team in advance by emailing hospitality.utm@utoronto.ca. We will make every effort to assist you in selecting food with ingredients that meet your specific needs.
If in doubt, do not eat
Dana Hospitality provides training to their staff on food allergies and strive to be knowledgeable about the ingredients in the foods served on campus.
If you have any concerns about ingredients in a food item, Dana Hospitality recommends that you not eat that food item.

Halal
How do you define Halal on campus?
Food that contains Halal certified and permitted ingredients. They do not contain Haram ingredients.
Does UTM Food Service support Halal diets?
Yes! All the chicken served at non-branded stations across campus is Halal.
Chicken served by branded stations is not halal. This is indicated at each station. Branded stations include:

Plant-Based / Vegan
How do you define Plant-Based / Vegan Food on campus?
Foods that contain only plant-based ingredients. They do not contain meat, poultry, fish, seafood, dairy, eggs or honey.
Does UTM Food Service support Plant-Based / Vegan diets?
Yes! Many UTM Dining locations have plant-based or vegan options available.
Many branded outlets will have options as well.

Is there kosher food for purchase on campus?
Yes! Lechaim Catering Heat & Eat: Urban Kosher entrees are available at all four main locations (Davis Food Court, Fair Trade Café, North Side Bistro, & Colman Commons)

If you are a meal plan student:
Please send an email to hospitality.utm@utoronto.ca
- Once we hear from you we will set up a meeting with you, our team, and the Executive Chef to better understand your concerns in order to ensure you know exactly what you can eat on campus and feel confident that there are options for you
If you are not a meal plan student:
Please email hospitality.utm@utoronto.ca and the team will be happy to help you navigate your food options on campus

The University of Toronto Mississauga does not operate in allergen-free facilities. Food preparation areas and equipment are shared with foods containing common allergens.
For those who have special dietary requirements and have questions about the meal plan that you selected, please bring this information forward to us at Hospitality & Ancillary Services immediately after you have selected your Student Meal Plan.
