- - - - - - - - - - - - - - Tape recorder failed for 24 minutes - no data was lost because no migrants were seen and weather was unchanged.
- - 2:54 - - - - - - - - - yes -  A D. plexippus was seen foraging.  Swifts were also foraging.  Occasionally, a vulture flew by.  WW:  Radar was detecting more targets and showing then concentrated in convection cells (thermals).  Nothing was seen in high scans with binoculars.

descend - - 280° 5.6 m/s - - - I missed recording starting altitude.  The butterfly was gliding downwind and passed over some trees. The migrant turned around and started gliding towards the trees.
