Virtual Talk Event with Dr. Locklear: Housing experiences of American Indian/Alaska Native people

Knowledge Café: Housing experiences of American Indian/Alaska Native people, with Dr. Locklear

Wednesday November 13th | 12 - 1 PM ET

Online via Zoom

This talk will explore the various forms of racialization experienced across the U.S. by urban-dwelling American Indian/Alaska Native people, and how these impact access to housing, space, and safety among those who are unhoused, renters, homebuyers, or who live between reservation lands and cities. Dr. Locklear argues that centering the diversity of Indigenous people’s experiences within a settler-colonial housing context is crucial, given the erasure of American Indian/Alaska Native people in urban housing research and the centrality of housing for human well-being.
