Dr. Damian Dupuy is a former Ontario public servant having served over 20 years in a number of ministries at a senior level. The bulk of his work while a public servant was in policy and planning particularly in the areas of regional economic development, urban and regional innovation systems, and urban and regional growth management.

Prior to joining the Ontario public service, he was a Senior Consultant with a UK-based economic development consultancy where he led the creation of economic development and innovation strategies at the local and regional levels in Canada, and internationally including, the United States, and across the European Union.

Damian is a part-time faculty member in the Department of Geography, and the Institute for Management and Innovation at the University of Toronto where he teaches courses on urbanization, economic development planning, and industrial location.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Geography from the National University of Ireland (University College Dublin), and a Masters degree and PhD in Urban and Economic Geography from the University of Toronto.

An avid runner, Damian is currently Vice-Chair of the Ontario Masters Council of Athletics Ontario, the governing body for track and field athletics in Ontario, and sits on the board of Canadian Masters Athletics, the governing body for masters’ track and field athletics in Canada.
