Orientation week - incoming students
Our Orientation Week takes place in the week leading up to the start of semester, from Tuesday, September 6 to Friday, September 9, 2022. Orientation week includes welcome events for our incoming students to help you get started at UTM and a couple of social events for all our incoming and returning MUI students.
Orientation Week includes events and sessions run by the Master of Urban Innovation faculty, MUI staff, MUI returning students, Registrars Office and Library staff.
You'll find out:
- information about your courses, professors and classes
- how and where to access graduate student services and support
- an introduction to professional development, internship and supports that are in place within MUI to prepare you for your career and summer placement
- making new friends and expanding your networks
- fun things to do on and around the campus
Make sure you regularly check your UTor email address, as you'll receive information and updates about your start of the semester.
Most orientation week activities will be held in the Kaneff Building/Innovation Complex at UTM (marked KN on the schedule below). Please click here for link to a campus map.

Orientation week activities - returning students
We are looking forward to welcome on campus our returning MUI students and are inviting you them to participate in our Orientation Week social activities as they transition into the next year of their studies.
As our class of 2023 did not get a chance to get a proper campus tour last year as our activities were virtual, we are opening up an invitation to the returning MUI students to participate in the campus and library tour organized on Wednesday, September 8 (including the luncheon prior to the campus tour) and welcome the students to join the incoming students for our Paint Party. Your participation in the luncheon and campus tour is optional, and you may attend the Paint Party separately if you wish.
